Alex Jones, who skippered the side last season in place of the injured Mike Parker, has left the Essity Stadium to join tier 3 side CPD Y Rhyl 1879. The new Lilywhites team are a phoenix side formed after the original Rhyl team went out of business. Last season they won their tier 4 league under the management of former Flint joint boss Gareth Thomas, and clearly have ambitions of a swift return to the top echelons of the pyramid with the capture of Alex.
All at Flint wish Alex all the best in his new challenge.
Alex’s departure brings to four the number of players having left at the end of the season, following the losses of Jack Kenny, Kai Edwards and Sam Hart. This obviously leaves a bit of a void to fill in our squad, and we hope to be in a position very soon to confirm the first of the new arrivals for next season, as talks and negotiations continue apace.
