Calum Huxley joins the Silkmen

By Nigel Sheen
One of our last pieces of business before the transfer window shut was the signing of Calum Huxley, a left winger, from Witton Albion. Chester born Calum started his career at Wrexham, making a couple of first team substitute appearances. He was then signed by Sheffield Wednesday in January 2021, following a successful trial period with the Owls’ Development Squad, for whom he’d scored the only goal, on his debut, for their Under-23s against Cardiff City.
Last season he started at Caernarfon Town, before moving to Nantwich, before finally being loaned out to NWCL outfit Eccleshall.
We would like to thank Witton Albion for their role in facilitating Calum’s move.
Tyler Garratt has also returned to the club following a brief spell with Spennymoor and we welcome him back.
Meanwhile, our Academy have made two exciting new appointments. Hayden Hughes takes over as Head of our Foundation Phase (U8 to U11) and John Murphy joins as Head of our Performance Phase (U16 to U19). We welcome both Hayden and John to their new roles and wish them every success.
