We are delighted to confirm that plans have been finalised to install a new 3G playing surface at the Essity Stadium. The installation will cost £500,000 and is the first self funded 3G pitch in Wales.
Work will begin on laying the new pitch as soon as the current season has finished, and everything is expected to be ready in time for the start of next season.
On making the announcement, chairman Darryl Williams called it a “historic day” for the club. He went on to say that the new surface will also benefit local schools and the community of Flint as well as the club’s own Academy whose teams will now have a designated hub for training and matches.
The work will be carried out by PST Sport, whose Sales Director Kenny Abbott said: “We at PST Sport, are delighted to be working with Flint Town FC on this exciting project. We know through our experience in this sector that the investment the club are making will deliver growth and a fantastic future for all in the community.”
A contingent of representatives from the football club have visited and inspected a previous installation carried out by the company and were extremely impressed with what they saw, with Williams commenting that it was by far the best 3G surface he had witnessed.
