Flint Town United & Flint Town Ladies are pleased to be part of the Her Game Too Cymru weekend for International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and
political achievements of women. Marked annually on 8 March, IWD celebrates women’s
achievements, educates and raises awareness for women’s equality, calls for positive change
advancing women and marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
The IWD 2024 campaign theme is Inspire Inclusion.
• When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better
world.
• When women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging,
relevance, and empowerment.
Her Game Too Cymru forged a significant partnership with the Football Association of Wales’
Genero Adran Leagues and JD Cymru Leagues at the start of the 2023/24 season.
The partnership signifies a united effort to promote inclusivity and equality in Welsh Football,
making strides towards a more diverse and welcoming sport for all.
Roopa Vyas, Director and Founder of Her Game Too Cymru, said: “The dedicated fixture
weekend is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of sexism in football.
“Our partnership with the leagues in September 2023 marked a historic moment as the first
national leagues collaboration for Her Game Too, and this initiative underscores our
commitment to fostering inclusivity and equality in the sport.”
Jack Sharp, FAW Head of Domestic Leagues, said: “We are very proud to be the first national
leagues partnered with Her Game Too as we continue to create a Welsh football environment
where all fans, players and staff feel respected, supported and visible.
“Our Her Game Too weekend will provide clubs with the opportunity to showcase their women
role models and further engage with their fanbases, while allowing the campaign to have an
impact across the country.
“We look forward to providing Her Game Too with a bigger platforms at key events in our
domestic calendar over the next few months.”
