This weekend we shall be looking to pick up our first points of Phase 2 as we host Welsh Cup finalists Penybont. After our most recent loss away at Caernarfon, Neil Gibson will be looking to rally his troops to put in a big performance in front of our fans at the Essity.
In our two previous meeting in Phase 1, the Silkmen won 3-1 at home (thanks to a Jack Kenny brace and a Michael Wilde goal) whilst in the return fixture the honours were shared 1-1 with Wilde again on target for Flint, this time with a penalty.
But Rhys Griffiths’ side will be bursting with confidence following their Welsh Cup semi final victory last weekend over Bala Town, and also their excellent midweek win at Newtown, so we know we are going to be in for a real battle to secure our first win of Phase 2.
