A number of players have departed the Essity Stadium following the conclusion of the season.
First to announce his departure was the ever popular Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro, who was Lee Fowler’s first signing when he became manager. After two season at the club, Jean-Louis has decided to move on, with Fowler commenting “Jean is someone that has become a good friend for life. as well as a work colleague. His attitude and professionalism can’t be questioned, his laid back approach is infectious on people around him. He played for me at two different clubs and has been here for 2 seasons, and at 39 still has lots to offer. We wish Jean all the best in what ever he does next in football”
Louis Lacey and his brother Paddy have also left, following the end of Louis’ loan deal. Lee Fowler commented how much Luis has improved having had his first taste of men’s senior football and that he looks forward to seeing how far he can go in the game. He also added that Paddy is superb character who came at first to look after Luis, but then become a key figure in the team on and off pitch, helping out both himself and the younger lads at the club.
Assistant Manager Danny Harrison has left to take up a similar position at Colwyn Bay, where he will work alongside Michael Wilde, who was recently appointed manager at the Bay. Following Harrison to the Bay are a quartet of players, goalkeeper Rhys Williams, defenders Joe Williams and Sol Forde, and our former skipper Jay Owen.
Meanwhile, Lee Fowler is busy working behind the scenes in assembling his squad for the new season, and we shall be announcing the first of our new signings shortly.
