UEFA A Licence Holder

Biography

Cardiff born Lee is a former Welsh Under 21 international, gaining 12 caps for his country.  During his playing career, he was a midfielder, and represented an array of clubs including Coventry City, Huddersfield Town, Fleetwood Town, Doncaster Rovers, Wrexham and Forest Green Rovers.

After hanging up his boots, Chester based Lee moved into the coaching and management side of the game, and gained his UEFA A licence. Hr started out as Assistant Manager at Nuneaton Borough, and has subsequently managed Ilkeston Town, where he led them to the Midlands Premier Division title and Radcliffe in the NPL Premier league. He left Radcliffe in October 2021, and turned down several offers before taking the opportunity to manage in the Cymru Premier by accepting the role of Flint Town United manager in June 2022.

For the start of the 2022/23 season he had to reassemble a squad that was good enough to compete in the Premier Division, as an exodus of players had meant he had to start from scratch. It was a far from ideal preparation, but it’s to his credit, that the squad he brought together took the fight right to the last day of the season, before eventually they were relegated. But the team bounced back in style, being promoted back up to the Cymru Premier at the end of the following season.

In March 2026, following a review of the footballing structure at the club, Lee accepted the role of Head of Football Operations, which means his role now encompasses overseeing all of the teams under the Flint Town United banner, whilst still keeping a big emphasis on the first team.  His assistant, Steve Evans, has stepped up into the position of 1st team manager.
