Player Biography

Cardiff born Rhys came through the junior ranks at the Bluebirds before joining the Newport County Academy, scoring 28 goals in 32 appearances for their U18’s before turning professional with Bristol Rovers. Whilst with Rovers he enjoyed loan spells with Gloucester City and Hungerford Town. However, a recurring injury looked to have ended his football career prematurely at the age of 21, as he was forced to retire from his professional career. Following a sustained period of rest, Rhys decided to commence training again and resume his career, signing for Barry Town United. He then joined Penybont at the start of the 2022/23 season, before signing for Flint in the January 2023 transfer window, as his personal circumstances meant he made the move up to north Wales.
